National review under way to reform Australia’s research

                        

Funding, fees and governance will come under scrutiny as minister promises focus on affordability

Australia’s national review of higher education—the accord process—has begun, with education minister Jason Clare promising a focus on knowledge and skills, access and affordability.

The entire higher education research system will be reviewed as part of the process, with an aim to “synchronise” with an ongoing review of the Australian Research Council.
