Stephen Gordon’s decision “not related” to last year’s suspension and bullying investigation

The director of a US$30 million medical research partnership between the United Kingdom and Malawi will be stepping down from 31 July, after the end of his time in office was overshadowed by allegations about his conduct.  

Stephen Gordon will leave the post after seven years at the helm of the Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Programme (MLW), a partnership between the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, the University of Liverpool and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, with funding from the Wellcome Trust.
