Appropriations bill boosts US science spending for 2023

National Science Foundation among agencies to receive bolstered budgets

A $1.7 trillion US federal funding package has been signed into law for the 2023 financial year, boosting spending plans for activities including R&D.

Congress introduced additional funding into an omnibus appropriations bill at the end of 2022, which was signed off by president Joe Biden on 29 December.
