Her work has appeared in The Age, the Australian, Meanjin, Griffith Review, Island, on ABC radio and in numerous magazines and anthologies. She is the author of two non-fiction books (the historical biography A Walking Shadow and the city-biography Much Ado About Melbourne) and holds a doctoral degree from the University of Melbourne’s department of culture and communication.
