Michelle Donelan under pressure to deliver association in first weeks of cabinet role

Researchers have been urging science minister Michelle Donelan to finalise association to the EU’s Horizon Europe funding scheme, as the dust settles on her newly created Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

The former education and culture secretary was appointed to a cabinet-level science minister role last week as part of a major Whitehall shake-up that saw prime minister Rishi Sunak split up the Department
for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
