Investor says government’s ambition to grow UK R&D companies is stymied by its own policies

The UK’s former vaccine tsar, Kate Bingham, has claimed that the government is doing the “complete reverse” of its stated ambition to grow science and technology companies.

The venture capitalist received widespread praise for her role as chair of the UK Vaccine Taskforce, which was set up to coordinate the research efforts of government with industry, academics and funding agencies to develop and deploy vaccines during the pandemic.
