Position paper promises smoother student visa process, says German academic exchange provider

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has welcomed a position paper from the German government that proposes simplifying the visa process to get more international students into the country.

The plan aims to make immigration easier by reducing bureaucracy, but also contains suggestions to help potential students and workers improve their language skills. According to the DAAD, the position paper is a shift towards recognising that many international students will, if they have access to training and visas, become professional and skilled workers in Germany.
