Dutch funders reward top early career academics

                

Prizes and fellowships awarded to young researchers pushing the boundaries in their fields

Junior researchers in the Netherlands have been given early Christmas presents in the form of prizes for originality in their work.

The Dutch Royal Academy (KNAW) and medical research funder ZonMw both announced their prizes for young researchers in December. The two organisations, which are among the most prestigious research funders in the country, said the money would help early career academics with unique ideas to establish their own research groups.
