Rathenau backs focus on future technologies

                 

Science policy analyst confirms dedication to better planning and support for politicians facing “disruptions”

The Rathenau Institute has pledged its support for efforts to improve the way future technologies are introduced in order to help society cope with the resulting disruptions.

The institute, which facilitates public debate on science in the Netherlands, contributed to the annual European Parliamentary Technology Assessment conference that took place last month in Berlin. At the conference, the institute released a formal statement urging governments across Europe to become better at anticipating technological developments—and in guiding how they are adopted.
