DR File:Cape Town Harbour with Table Mountain.jpg[edit]

Good day, you requested deletion of your image File:Cape Town Harbour with Table Mountain.jpg and wrote: "I want this wiki and image to be removed…" I understand what removal of the image means but what do you mean by removing "this wiki"?

I would appreciate a short note (put it here if you prefer and mark it {{reply to|Aisano}}), or else I might vote against deletion for fear of unwanted consequences.

Thank you, -- Aisano (talk) 22:59, 15 April 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks for the response, this image has been used for commercial gain without any credit to me as the owner of this work. Therefore It is important to remove this wiki and image.

Please notify me when this has been done.

Regards

Sorry, I am not a Wikimedia administrator, just an ordinary user, so I could not remove an image if I wanted to.
You have not answered my question what you mean by "remove the wiki" (I think I understand what "remove the image" means). In my terminology a wiki is a web site where users can contribute in an uncomplicated way ("wiki" = fast in Hawaiian, I am told). Wikimedia Commons (this site) is a wiki. Certainly you do not mean to remove it?
I cannot speak for anybody else here but when you uploaded the image you agreed to release it under the "Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0)" license. Such licenses need to be dependable, so they cannot be taken back. You probably knew that technically anybody could copy your image, and that your only way to enforce the license was by going to court. Moreover, the people who misused your picture certainly made their own copy, so what good would it do to have the picture removed from Wikimedia Commons now?
I do not think your chances to have your picture removed from Wikimedia Commons are really good. Just my personal pieces of copper. Feel free to try again.
It would be nice if you signed your discussion items with four tildas (after logging in) and indented each new contribution by prefixing the lines with an appropriate number of colons.
